        Brand rookmelder worden vaak gebruikt in brand detecteursystemen maar echter worden zij ook gemakkelijk  aangesloten op het alarmsystemen.  Een speciale relais onderaan deze detector wordt aan een alarmsysteem geïntegreerd.  Zoals de naam al doet vermoeden, rook rookmelder en hittemelder detecteert de opgewekte vuur. In het algemeen wordt aanbevolen in de keukens en andere kamers eventuele warmte of rookmelders  te installeren.
